We are a small team of 8 friends and business partners with the personal ambition of standing on the highest point of Africa, the only place on Earth where you can see the natural curvature of our amazing planet.
We leave on 8 October and in all likelihood, we will all suffer from altitude sickness including headaches, extreme fatigue and sickness and whilst there is a chance that not all of us will make it to the summit, we are certainly determined to try. Twelve months of training and preparation including gym work, the National 3 Peaks Challenge and lots of reading has prepared us for the physical and mental demands of climbing 5,950m with no toilet or shower and only basic provisions in small tents with temperatures ranging from -20 to +20 degrees!
