Lee Eccles, James French, Tristan Gibbs and Peter Hill have joined together to raise money for Diabetes UK in memory of our friend, Richard Tyrrell. Richard tragically passed away in December 2010 at the age of 22. Always on the go, striving for success and encouraging others, Richard is sorely missed by his friends.
In his memory, we have decided to run the Windsor Half Marathon in September and are asking for your help in raising money for Diabetes UK. Richard was diagnosed with Type I diabetes while at school. Rather than letting this hold him back, Richard continued to lead an active lifestyle - putting others to shame in the gym and on the rugby field, not to mention in tae kwon do and the dance floor...occasionally!
Diabetes UK is the largest organisation in the UK working for people with diabetes, funding research, campaigning and helping people live with the condition. Diabetes touches the lives of over two million people in the UK and any amount you might be willing to sponsor us to run our half marathon will help fund research into the causes of diabetes which may help prevent and, one day, cure the condition. Your sponsorship will also help provide services and support for people living with diabetes, their families and carers.
So, PLEASE dig deep and sponsor us to 'run', we are currently training really hard!!!... If you sponsor any one of us your donation will contribute to our team total, or if you are feeling really generous, you could sponsor all of us! (Members are listed below)
Also, feel free to come to Windsor for a day out on the 25th September to watch/provide moral support/laugh, it would be great to see you there!
Thanks in advance,
Lee, James, Tristan and Peter x
