Thank you for taking the time to visit Team Emma’s Great North Run 2013 JustGiving page.
The Great North Run is the biggest and most iconic half marathon in the world and a team of 19 will be running in memory of Emma Mannix to raise much needed funds for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.
Emma was diagnosed with Pure Erythroid Leukaemia, a rare type of blood cancer in June 2012.
Unfortunately despite all the hard work, care, and expertise of the staff and consultants at Alderhey Hospital Emma tragically passed away on 7 October 2012.
As those people who were lucky enough to spend time with Emma know she was amazing, always so bright, lively and full of fun. In tribute to Emma's resilience and positive attitude to life 'Team Emma' made up of her family and friends are participating in the Great North Run. This gives us an opportunity to raise money for the Emma Mannix Tribute fund at Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research UK.
We share the vision of Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research that only a 100% survival rate from blood cancer is good enough and hope that donations in memory of Emma will support vital research to beat all Leukaemia & Lymphoma diseases.
