Why Clean Drinking Water in India?
As of 2011, 17% of India’s 1.2 billion people lacked access to clean drinking water.
Despite India’s rapid modernization, water continues to be a critical issue of survival for Indians.
An ineffective bureaucracy has led to poor water management infrastructure. Its reach is limited and its management is inefficient. An estimated $500 billion dollars worth of assets in water resources and irrigation infrastructure has been wasted.
Why FRANK Water?
FRANK Water’s mission is simple. To provide clean water where there is none.
FRANK Water's projects are effective and sustainable. Water sanitation facilties are developed with local talent, which creates jobs and ensures the sustainability of the project after it is completed. By encouraging local participation, projects are adaptable to local circumstances, which also decreases the villagers’ reliance on government institutions.
As of 2011, FRANK Water has funded 63 clean water projects in India.
