Story

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.

We said we'd never do it again, that we'd never let Dave C-J out in public wearing cycling shorts........but here we are! After a successful assault on Zebrugge in 2006 we are preparing ourselves for the latest challenge - Raid Over the Border!

On13 September 2008, we will be taking part in a 70 mile ordeal, sorry, bike ride around the beautiful Scottish borders to help raise funds for Ataxia UK.

Ataxia means ‘absence of order’. People with Ataxia have problems of co-ordination. There are many different types of cerebellar Ataxia. Most are inherited. The most common is Friedreich’s Ataxia. This is a degenerative neurological disorder that usually becomes apparent in children from 7 years upwards.  It attacks the central nervous system and by the age of 13 the child will most likely have to use a wheelchair. There is currently no cure or no treatment for Friedreich’s Ataxia and all the funds raised from the Bike Rides have been and will be directed at research projects currently underway in the UK and Europe.

Your generosity is most appreciated.

Many thanks

Paul, Patrick, Dave, Quentin, Andy & John
