Firstly, thank you for taking a look at my page - this alone means a lot.

Now for me to paint the picture to hook in your generosity and support another very worthy cause...

On the 19th May 2016 our lives changed forever - we welcomed into the world our little boy, Harrison. However, just like his name-sake, his entry into the world was a whirlwind journey! Harrison was born in very distressing circumstances, he'd ingested a lot of the fluids in the womb that aren't meant to be taken in and he required a significant amount of resuscitation and was consequently placed in intensive care on Wrexham Maelor's Special Care Baby Unit.

My wife, Alicia, and I had an agonising wait to see if he'd make it through the night, which he did, and then a further excruciating wait to determine whether he'd experienced any short term damage. Thankfully he hadn't however he was 5 days old before Alicia was able to hold her baby boy for the first time.

Harrison was in SCBU and under the care of the amazing team there for a total of 3 weeks before he was allowed to come home with us both. During this time Alicia and I were camped out in the in-house accommodation for parents which was a priceless commodity to have access to and which is solely funded and provided by volunteers and charitable donations.

Throughout Harrison's (and our!) stay in SCBU, he was cared for by a truly brilliant and devoted team of specialist doctors and nurses who's unwavering dedication to his care, in simple terms, saved his life. Not only did they save our little boy's life but they were often a shoulder to cry on, an ear to speak to and a support to Alicia and I and our family who regularly visited. 

Words and actions simply cannot say enough how thankful we all are that they were there and for what they did to ensure we have the cheeky monkey you can see above with us today. Having said this we are trying with myself running the Chester Half Marathon to directly raise funds that will go to helping support other families who will call upon these fantastic facilities now and in the future.

So I ask, no, I PLEAD with any of you who have read this far to think about the families who need this help and support and to dig deep to help these families out in their time of need.
