Myself, Stevo and Kerry are going to be running (or should I say surviving) the Great North Run for the amazing charity 'Brave Hearts of the North East' on the 11th September 2022. 

This amazing, none profitable, charity was founded in 1989 and provides an evening of recognition, awards, and support for extremely poorly but courageous children and their families. 

In Dec 2019 we found out that our daughter, Ava, was devastatingly  poorly and needed life saving surgery. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic sadly Ava's operation was postponed on several occasions, which created additional adverse effects. However, Ava championed on through and came out of the other side in a spectacular way. 

The amazing medical team at the RVI were astounded by how well Ava coped and adapted to her 'new' way of life. Therefore, they nominated Ava to receive a Brave Heart Award. 

In November 2021, whilst attending the online ceremony, we all sat through the event and watched as Ava was presented her fantastic award for bravery, which can be watched on their facebook page.

Myself, Stevo and Kerry really want to give back to this outstanding charity so that they can support families in their darkest hours, like they did and continue to do for us. 

Please remember, not all children get to ring that special 'end of treatment' bell, some can only dream of this.
