Story

Hello!

A big BIG great enormous thankyou to everyone who's donated towards our walk. We completed the walk on 19/20th July. It was a fantastic effort and everyone completed the whole 100km. We couldn't have done it without the support crew who were fantastic on the day and stayed up through the night. Thankyou - Vicky & Joe, Kath & Jim, Denise and Alex!!!!

The Big Day: Trailwalker 19th/20th July 08. Petersfield to Brighton 100km.

We made it - 26 hours 20 mins of blood, sweat and tears!

All the photos from the day are now available on the flickr site on the left hand of the page. In the meantime - if you haven't donated yet to the great causes please do so as it's not too late. The Gurkha Welfare Trust cares for over 10,600 ex servicemen and Oxfam is looking for funds urgently to help with the East African Food crisis. We'll appreciate any help you can give.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We took part in Trailwalker UK. It's a 100-kilometre hike from Petersfield to Brighton, along the South Downs Way, for teams of four - with only 30 hours to do it!! After allowing time for eating and for blister care there wasn't any time for sleep!!

As well as the walking, we also had to train beforehand-many people think it's 'only walking', but it's actually two and a half marathons, plus an ascent equivalent to that of Ben Nevis! Last year, 20 per cent of the people who started the course never finished it.

If all that wasn't enough of a challenge - we're still fundraising too! All the money goes to support the work of Oxfam and the Gurkha Welfare Trust. We've pledged to raise £1,500 and are still hoping to reach £2,500.

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor us online.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Oxfam Trailwalker will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor us now!

Many thanks for your support.
