Story
We wanted to do something slightly different. Most London to Paris cycling events involve completing the challenge in 3 days. Rich, Anton, Mark and James thought it would be a good idea to complete it in 24 hours back in January of this year - this was a great idea at the time! Haha. From our research, only nutters seem to do it in 24 hours!
However, the training went very well with many hours in the saddle from all of us. On top of this, eating and drinking had to be taken into consideration, plus many runs and spinning classes all thrown in for good measure. We also had a small support team that joined us for the trip, assisting us with our equipment, food and energy intake and general guidance all the way to Paris.
We started the journey from Buckingham Palace on Saturday 20th June 2015 at 4.00pm, and headed to catch the ferry from Newhaven at 12.00am. With a three and a half hour sleep and the loss of an hour, we then cycled from Dieppe down to Paris to complete the journey under the Eiffel Tower before 5.00pm on Sunday 21st June 2015 with a very well deserved nice, cold bottle of champers that was waiting for us!
Pictures were provided from the team throughout the challenge with a few GoPro video units recording the experience for all of us to laugh about after!
