Story
This year in October, Jonny turns 25 and rather than celebrating in the usual way (a cheeky beer in a suitable establishment), he decided to conjure up some of his athlete friends to take on the challenges of the Henley Half Marathon. Maybe the aforementioned cheeky beer would have been more popular with his friends but three other inviduals were persuaded that running 13.1 miles on a Sunday morning in bleak October could maybe/possibly be slightly enjoyable and rewarding (?!). So without further ado, let me introduce you to the team. The team of four consists of Stuart 'Catch Me If You Can' Tomlinson, Luke 'Pacemaker' Mackinder, Hannah 'I Kneed Support' Kyrke-Smith and Jonny 'Run Fatboy Run' Baker.
A challange of this nature presents the opportunity to raise money for a worthwhile cause. We'd like to raise money for the charity Engineers without Borders, an international development organisation that removes barriers to development through engineering. EWB-uk funds research and training into key development areas such as water, energy, industry, transport and healthcare. They also organise voluntary work experience placements for students and young professionals to share their skills with and to learn from developing communities abroad. For more info, check out:
