Story

On September 26th I will be embarking on my first ever ultra marathon. With the pandemic wiping all organised races off the face of the earth this year, I needed to set a challenge to hit my target. So here it is. 64 miles from Margam to Pembrey - The Long Way Home via the St Illtyd's Way. Taking in over 10,000ft of elevation, there should be plenty to take the breath away.

The Long Way Home is inspired by the challenge and struggle that families and vulnerable individuals find themselves in daily, as they search for safe harbour and a secure future. Which is why I'm running to raise money for Refugee Community Kitchen.

In these times, with so many displaced families and vulnerable people seeking refuge, security and hope. Organisations like Refugee Community Kitchen strive daily to provide hot nourishing food & vital lifeline support for the people most in need. But they can't do that without some help.

CHOOSE LOVE - Help Support, and send a message of solidarity to those in need.

----

Refugee Community Kitchen support displaced people in Northern France and homeless people in London and Edinburgh. We give people more than a hot meal, we give them a place to gather and connect. Somewhere to recreate a community - providing space for medical and legal services, safeguarding groups and other support.

Please donate and share, so that they can rebuild our stores of essentials such as rice, spices, gloves, Vegware, beans, oil, fresh veg, fuel and much more!

£10 = 12 litres of cooking oil
£20 = 75 tins of tomatoes
£50 = 55kg Basmati rice
£100 = 85kg dried beans

RCK is 100% dependent on donations, they really need your support in this crucial time. Please help us get back on their feet so that we can continue our mission of serving nutritious food without judgement.

“Doing nothing was no longer an option.”
