The Tett Kalch Family 2018

Team: Remembering Anna Lewis
In 2012 Anna Lewis - the daughter of a good friend of mine - sadly died from Mitochondrial disease. I'd never heard of Mitochondrial disease before but it turns out it is more common than you would think and about 1 in 200 people carry a mitochondrial genetic defect.
The effects of the disease are devastating and currently there is no cure. Anna's death was so sad for Anna's family and all of those that knew her. She really was such a special little girl and so powerful. She left a huge impact on everyone around her both in life and now from heaven and we all think about her everyday.
Following her death her family (mum Jess, dad David and sister Holly), inspired by Anna and strengthened by Anna's courage, decided to put their energy into fundraising for GOSH for research into Mitochondrial Disease. So far they have raised a whopping £304,000!
In 2018 they want to raise a further £100,000 (they will not stop until a cure is found!) So this year they have set up "Anna's Family Fundraisers". Their aim is to get 100 families who will join in trying to raise £1000 across all of 2018. We are one of those families so this is our page! We will fundraise in lots of different ways and every time some money is raised it will appear here.
If any of you reading think you would like to join too you can contact Jess through the Anna Lewis Brighter Future Fund Facebook page:

or on Twitter: @inmemoryofanna
I think it's absolutely lovely that in Anna's memory so many families
will be coming together and raising money for this great cause! Anything you can do to help is very much appreciated.
Best wishes,
