Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Most of us in this day and age know of somebody who has received treatment from or due to receive treatment for cancer at The Christie. For many years the word cancer was almost like a death sentence, but thanks to the kindness of the public through donations and the boundless energy of The Christie staff, many patients are cured and in most cases receive a better quality of life. I know in these times of difficulty it is hard to keep putting your hand in your pocket but there are always people a lot worse off than ourselves no matter how bad we think things are.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Training Update
Preparations have been going... Let's leave it at that for now. New bikes have been acquired for a couple of us. Saddles have been tested and changed. What a sore process that was. We now know the route from Manchester to Bolton and back intimately. One of us has wrecked a pair of shoes already and has fallen off his bike too many times to mention. Walkers along the canal now know to jump into the canal when they hear the grinding of gears and the smell of burning rubber. Jumping in is less painful than being ran over by two tonnes of beef on a bike.
Despite the aches, pains, blood, sweat and tears the training has been fun, in a wicked sort of way. We'll keep you posted as Sunday draws closer.
