Story
Three Challenges completed but it's not too late to sponsor us!
Robin Hood Marathon (26 miles) - Successfully completed by Darren (5hrs 25) and Rachel (5hrs 08) on 12th Sept 2010. Well done both of you, mum would be very proud.
Bike Ride from Ilkeston to Snowdon - Successfully completed over 02-03 October 2010 by Jeff and Chris Beardsley who cycled a massive 110 miles the first day ready for the hard climb through Snowdonia National Park and up Snowdon on the second. An amazing acheivement, you should both be so proud, I know mum would be.
Three Peaks (Ben Nevis, Scarfell Pike and Snowdon) - Successfully completed over 01-03 October 2010 despite gale force winds, heavy rain, a car breakdown and ill-health. We reached our final destination on schedule at the end of the Miners Track at Snowdon, where we were met by Jeff, Chris, Darren and Rachel from the other challenges. It was a long trek up the mountains but an amazing experience and well worth the effort. Good work team, you should all be very proud.
We'd like to thank everyone for taking part in the three challenges and for supporting a cause that is so important to us. You've all done an amazing thing. Special thanks should also go to Janet, Tracey and the kids who were our groupies, following us from challenge to challenge and even meeting us at the end on Mount Snowdon.
A big thank you to everyone that has chosen to sponsor us in our challenges which were organised in memory of a very special person. We can't thank you enough and hopefully our efforts along with those of others will help in the fight against cancer.

Dear Friends and Family,
Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page, which has been set up in memory of Susan Beardsley who sadly lost her fight against ovarian cancer earlier this year. Those of you who knew her will know how much she loved the outdoors and so the challenges are a fitting tribute.
We are raising money for the 'Nottingham University Hospital Breast and Gynae Oncology Research Fund',which is specifically used to undertake clinical trials into ovarian and breast cancer. The trials are available to Nottinghamshire patients and amongst other things, are used to develop methods of determining the biological markers that indicate how a particular patient will respond to a treatment, and in turn, which treatment options a patient would find most beneficial. It is the hope of the research team that patient-tailored treatment will become the norm in the future. Those people who have been affected by cancer know that getting the right treatment fast could make a big difference, and this is why we have chosen to support this particular research fund.
We're so pleased that you have decided to sponsor us and support a local charity that could make a difference in the fight against cancer.
Thank you,
Jeff, Darren and Hannah (and all our family and friends supporting us in the Three Challenges) xxx
