We fund pioneering research to tackle bowel cancer.
Story
On 6 July twelve lads from Derby completed the Three Peaks 24hr Challenge in 23hrs 40minutes - only 20minutes to spare!!
This involved climbing the three highest mountains in Scotland (Ben Nevis), England (Scafell Pike) and Wales (Snowdon).
We started at the base of Ben Nevis 8am Saturday morning. Our times are shown below:
Ben Nevis: 4hrs 45mins
Scafell Pike: 3hrs 35mins
Snowdon: 3hrs 40mins
Total distance walked: 22.8miles
Total distance driven in mini bus cramped up: 1075miles
Official time to complete whole challenge: 23hrs 40mins
The challenge was really tough, and we all suffered for a few days after with leg muscle ache and tiredness. We’ve just about stopped limping.
We’d really like to hit our target of £2000, so please donate anything you can spare. We really appreciate your time to look at this website. Why not check out our blogsite to share our experiences of the weekend: http://threepeakschallenge2008.blogspot.com
Stephanie Moore MBE set up the Bobby Moore Fund in partnership with Cancer Research UK, following the death of her husband, Bobby Moore, from bowel cancer. The Bobby Moore Fund is now a leader in the fight against bowel cancer, funding research that’s helping more people to survive than ever before.
