Story

British Ultra Marathon veterans John Tyszkiewicz and Jackson Griffith invite you to support their project to undertake the first ever non-stop traverse of Lebanon on foot, running over roads, trails and mountain tracks for more than 165 miles and for an estimated 40 hours.

BREAKING NEWS : The run has now successfully completed ! Starting on Sunday 5th April and running non stop through to Tuesday 7th April, John & Jackson completed their epic adventure, starting on the northern border with Syria at the small township of Arida, ending on the southern Lebanese border with Israel at Al Naqoura. The picture here shows the guys at the finish line.

Along the way they were driven on by support at key stages from those that the project was itself designed to support ; the children from SOS Children’s Villages, the world’s largest orphaned & abandoned children’s charity. You can read more about their facilities in Lebanon here ;

We must also pay a huge thanks to the team at the Beirut Marathon Association for so ably handling the complex logistics of the project, headed up by Abdallah Abdelnour and Mark Dickinson. The success of the project is in no small part due to their dedication, enthusiasm and attention to detail.

We still anticipate some more donations to come through in the coming weeks helping us to achieve the amazing goal of £10,000 and this JustGiving site will therefore remain open for the time being. Full race reports, photos and media coverage will be published shortly !
