Fundraising for Cancer Research UK’s Bobby Moore Fund
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On June 5th this year I’ll be attempting Great Britain’s Three Peak Challenge to raise money for the Bobby Moore bowel cancer research fund.
After months of training, me and 14 friends from work will take on the challenge of climbing Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in the Lake District and Mount Snowdon in Wales in under 24 hours. We were inspired to fundraise for the Bobby Moore bowel cancer research fund by our own experiences of family and friends who have suffered cancer and to raise awareness of bowel cancer, which despite being a largely preventable disease, is the third most common cancer in the UK. It probably hasn’t escaped you that it is also World Cup year, a time when many people remember Bobby Moore for his role in England’s last World Cup Victory in 1966. Bobby Moore sadly died in 1993 of bowel cancer aged 51 and we hope that our fundraising this summer will remind people of Bobby Moore and raise awareness of bowel cancer and the brilliant work of his charity. The link below includes details of the work of the Bobby Moore Foundation, including their direct funding of research into the causes of bowel cancer, their campaign to raise awareness in Men over the age of 50, and their funding of cancer nurses and grief counsellors.* Charities pay a small fee for our service. Find out how much it is and what we do for it.
