Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
Well I did it and it was the most amazing experience. Aided by my team of faithful huskies Multe, Vega, Roger, Ken, Jonas and Ibsen we travelled 250km across the Arctic in temperatures dropping to minus 25. A big thank you to all those who have sponsored me to date and for all those reading this for the first time thank you for visiting and if you are able to add a little to the total to push me nearer the target thank you again!
Who are Acorns?
Acorns provides respite, emergency and end-of-life care in three hospices located in Birmingham, Walsall and Worcester. A dedicated community team offers further 24 hour support to the whole family in their homes including practical and emotional support for parents, special help for siblings and bereavement counselling.
It costs £4,500 per day to run each of the hospices - a daily bed cost of £450.
How does the financing work?
There were two financing options available, the first of which involved being required to raise a certain amount of sponsorship in order to go on the trek. However I opted for the other option where I funded the cost of the trip myself and every penny that you lovely people give will go towards the good work that Acorns do.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Acorns Children's Hospice Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
If on the basis of the above you would like to sponsor me, thank you ever so much for your generosity and if not thank you for taking the time to read this.
