Reigate & Redhill YMCA - The Welsh 3000s (Snowdonia) · 15 July 2010 ·

YMCA East Surrey offers a variety of programmes and activities to help people believe in themselves, support them to achieve their goals and inspire them to reach their full potential. Our wide range of community services focus on those who are vulnerable, have a disability or face disadvantage.

Story

Well, I just had to go back.

Not having climbed Crib Goch left the job undone and despite the apalling weather at the time being a good excuse, some of my  supporters were even asking for a refund!!

So bank holiday weekend, having already prebooked the natty YHA at BrynGynant we set off to Pen Y Pass on to Pygs Track and up the infamous Crib Goch.

All the good advice reminds you to keep to the left of the peak but for some unfathomable reason after we reached the summit, and the weather took a turn for the worse we found ourselves on the right flank. Quite scary to put it mildly. Raining and pooor visibilty we picked our way  cautiously down a steep scree and back on to Pygs Track to reach Snowden without any further mishap.

Job properly done.

So again many thanks for the sponsorship. AND no refunds.

The YMCA certainly need the funds to help them continue their great work in helping those so less fortunate than us.

Now that it's properly done and dusted, there is still time to safely support YMCA by visiting http://www.justgiving.com/tony-long

Thanks AGAIN
