Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
until this September the furthest I had run in my 47 years was a 10k in Atlanta in 2000 and it was with some trepidation that I planned to complete 26 miles in a month.....
firstly I competed in the Windsor Half Marathon on September 21st and then on 26th October I attacked the mountains and 20km of rough roads which separate Marseille from Cassis, along with 12000 frenchmen and women. I'm pleased to report that despite the climbing and crowds I improved my time in the sunshine in the south of France by 5 minutes to 1hour 47....so thanks are due to my osteopath Julian Hearne without whom participation would not have been possible...!
whilst it was a physical challenge to complete the two races, more important is that I have raised some funds for an extremely worthwhile cause in memory of our dear friend, Valerie Waters: the Ian Rennie Hospice at Home relies largely on donation and individual fundraising so your gifts have really been appreciated, particularly given these difficult economic times
Many thanks for your support!
Tony
