Story
Following the huge success of our maiden TWM cycling challenge in 2010, where 16 of us cycled 58 miles around the TWM offices, we have decided to up the stakes!
Surrey Air Ambulance have organised their own event, entitled the 'Double 100'. In this challenge cyclists will be given the choice of a gruelling 100km (62 miles) ride, or an eye watering 100miles!
The route has not yet been disclosed by the SAA, but it will start and finish in Dunsfold Aerodrome, taking in 3 counties inbetween. With many of the veterans from last years event feeling that the route was at its hardest around the Dunsfold area, it seems that we might be in for a real struggle.
Officially the fundraising target is £150 per person, but as with last year i am not setting a target. I think that we can do much better than that, so please just ask all your friends and family to dig deep and support us in what will undoubtedly be a tough challenge.
When you consider that the London 2012 Olympic Road Cycling event is 87 miles for the women, and 156 miles for the men, it really puts into perspective how difficult this will be - although our average speed might be ever so slightly lower than Mark Cavendish!
So please dig deep, get training (very necessary for this one!) and hopefully we can raise a nice amount of money for Surrey Air Ambulance.
Thanks
Dan
