Story
We have taken on the challenge of running a marathon for the personal challenge and for the opportunity it presents to raise valuable funds for Leuchie House where we both work. Leuchie is the only national respite centre in Scotland dedicated to supporting people with long term conditions such as multiple sclerosis, stroke, motor neurone disease, Parkinson’s and other conditions by giving them invaluable short breaks tailored to their unique needs.
It is so important to us that Leuchie continues to be able to offer guests 24 hour specialist care and an outstanding holiday experience whilst providing an essential break for their carers. This includes the activities, the amazing country house, the trips, the glorious homecooked food... we could go on!! The support from many generous individuals, businesses and organisations allows Leuchie to subsidise the cost of every break by half, making them affordable and accessible for all who need them.
Our target is £500 and any contributions would be gratefully received. For more information on the charity, please visit: www.leuchiehouse.org.uk.
(Special shout out to Gill K, injured in training who would have been the third marathoner, we look forward to supporting her at a future event!)
Ross is running the Loch Rannoch marathon on Sunday 13 October, and Michelle is running the York marathon on Sunday 20 October. All support means so much to us and to Leuchie House!
