I've been a bit quiet on the money-grabbing / charity fundraising front of late but 2009 is the year I am finally going to break into the realms of 'distance' running and attempt my first ever half marathon, running to raise funds for Help a London Child. I'm not quite sure why I think this is a good plan (the running, not the cause) but after several successful 10k runs I think I should push myself a but further and take on the challenge of the Great North Run....

I have already taken part in some warm-up events starting with Race for Life (6th May in Battersea then 17th May in Skipton), then the Asics British 10k 12th July. I promise I will only ask you to sponsor me for the main event, the Great North Run on September 20th. Your donations will help to spur me on when my interest in my training is fading... already I am anxious that I'm going to have to run for a mimumum of 2 hours!
