Story
As many of you know in Dec 2016 I had a left hip replacement and in Jan 2018 I had a right hip replacement. Not being one to let anything stop me (and after the go ahead from my surgeon!) I have signed up for the Great South Run which is 10 miles in October and will also be running the Leicester 10k race in September.
Now, lets talk money- Papworth hospital are quite simply- AMAZING. 9 years ago my mum became very poorly and after a few months/years of investigations she was diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension- a fatal heart disease with a life expectancy of 5 years. Thankfully, due to the work carried out at Papworth my mum had VERY long and grueling open heart surgery and was finally signed off, fit and well, in December 2017. So I am raising money for this amazing charity so they can continue to save lives.
Royal Papworth Hospital’s always ensurses that it puts patients and their families at the heart of everything it does. The Charity is committed to supporting patients and their carers and seeks to enhance the support it provides to the Hospital. Charitable funds have enabled the Hospital to provide care beyond that of NHS funding alone, enhancing the Hospital’s status as the UK’s leading provider of specialist cardiothoracic care and the country’s main heart and lung transplant centre.
