Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
As you will know by now we are trying to raise money for Diabetes UK and the Multiple Sclerosis Society, these are conditions that can affect any person at any time of life. We have friends and family who are affected by these conditions, and so both charities are close to our hearts. I have set up 2 just giving websites 1 for MS ( www.justgiving.com/vincent499-endtoend ) and this one for Diabetes. I will leave it up to you to decide which charity you would like to donate to, or feel free to donate to both. I hope you will agree they are both worthy of every penny ( no matter how many or how few) you would be kind enough to give.
So this is what we are doing. Bob (the builder) Hill and I (the spanner) have decided to go for a bike ride in July. We are starting off in South London and heading north to John O'Groats, then when we get there we are going to turn around and head south, to Lands End. Once we get to Lands End we are coming home again for a cup of tea/pint of Bishops Finger. The ride should cover just over 2000 miles of A and B roads, we will not be using motorways, and it will last about 8 days. The bikes we are taking are Vincents from the 1940s and '50s. Mine is a '51 500cc Comet, and Bobs is a 1000cc Rapide.
we will keep you posted of the trip and include some more detail of stops and routes nearer the time. So please come back again to see how we are doing.
So, nearly time to leave and we have the route sorted now. Saturday morning we leave the Black Prince Interchange at Bexley and head through London and Stevenage and make course for the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle show in Uttoxeter, then we are off to Holmfirth (Last of the Summer Wine country) , Skeeby, Edinburgh, Inverness upto John O'Groats and Thurso and back down to Inverness. After this we head south to Glasgow, Stockport, Dursley, and Plymouth via Porlock Hill. Then over to Lands End and back to Plymouth before returning home.
