Story

Hi everyone,

Over the last few years we've done a lot of crazy things for a number of different charities - we've tried to make it more challenging each time, pushing the boundaries of what our bodies can take - each year we've increased the distance cycled per day and upped the number of metres climbed.

This time we're stepping it up to a whole new level by cycling from John O'Groats to Land's End in 7 days (bear in mind that most people who attempt this struggle to do it in 15 days!).

We've raised money for some great causes - for Meningitis, Mental Health, Breast Cancer and Autism charities and this time we've decided to help the School for Parents: -

"The school for parents is a charity that supports babies and pre-school children with conditions such as cerebral palsy that cause motor disorders or motor development delay.  They also run specialist projects to help children with Down’s syndrome improve their communication skills" - http://www.schoolforparents.org/

Please do all you can to help out with our fundraising as this really is a tremendous cause and we'd like to do everything we can to help out.

This really is going to be the hardest thing we've ever done.  It's going to be 1000 miles of pain (and no doubt tears).  Over the next few months you'll see our bodies change shape as we have no choice but to lean ourselves down and ramp up the training - but to be honest nothing will prepare us for the week of pain.

Cycling, we have Christopher Cartlidge, James Lawson, and Steven Martin.  For support we will have Clare Taylor and Thomas Lawson (my 8 year old son) both of whom will be needing to skill up heavily in cycling nutrition, repair, and sports massage techniques :-)

Thank you for taking the time to visit our fundraising page.  What we're doing for one week is nothing compared to what the people affected by these conditions have to go through - So please dig deep and help us reach our target!

Many thanks for your support,

James, Chris, Steven, Clare and Thomas
