We provide family-led care and support to children with life-limiting conditions

Story

The Great Knaresborough Bed Race – 13 June 2009.

Wetherby Runners are beginning their campaign to raise funds for the nominated charities of Martin House and St Gemma’s Hospice by taking part in the Great Knaresborough Bed Race on the 13th June 2009.

The two specially constructed lightweight aluminium beds will be decorated this year with a musical theme in mind. Several ‘dressed’ training runs are being planned  to allow the team members time to perfect their technique. An advantage for Wetherby and of  particular significance is the advantage of practising the river crossing element.. ‘Freezing river crossings aside we feel that the event is a real fun day and we are keen to raise as much as we can for two very worthwhile organisations”There may be the chance for a few tin rattling renditions of ‘Jail House Rock’ in the local pubs aswell.Support from club members and those wishing to support our nominated charities is being sought and any offers of business or corporate sponsorship would be particularly welcome this year.

About the charity
