Story

Hey!

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Let me tell you a little about myself and why I am fundrasising. To begin, I am a 20 year old, who like many of you reading this, have never experienced the fear of not being able to find clean drinking water or sanitation; not only for myself but for my family. I have been lucky to have grown up in a safe environment, but many others haven't.

I have put myself forward to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in August. It's going to be the hardest thing I'm ever going to do. I want to raise £2990 for Dig Deep's work bringing clean water to schools and communities stuck in needless cycles of poverty caused by illness and lost opportunities.

Some (shocking) statistics:

  • 800 MILLION lack access to safe drinking water
  • 90% of waste water is discharged into rivers of the developing world
  • 50% of hospital beds are occupied by those suffering from waterborne diseases
  • 200 MILLION HOURS spent every day by women and girls ALONE collecting water.

These might just be numbers to many, but to millions around the world, that is their life and I will dedicate to try and reduce those numbers as much as possible. I strongly believe it is on each and everyone of us to make a difference to someone's life and potentially (hopefully) save and improve lives! Please, please donate generously for this amazing cause! :D

I put myself forward to climb the tallest free standing mountain in the world but I need your help!

Clean drinking water and sanitation is right, not a luxury!!
