Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This year I signed up to walk the Yorkshire 3 peaks which is 24miles in 12 hours. Either I am mad or I love my son very much and want to raise money for this incredibly supportive charity.
Callum was born 16 years ago with a rare medical condition called Congenital Melanocytic Naevus Syndrome or CMN for short. The whole of Callum's right arm is covered with a birthmark and he has other much smaller marks dotted around his body.
This condition is very rare and affects around 1 in 20,000 babies. It is possible for there to be further complications such as brain damage, developmental delay and scoliosis as well as the possibility of cancerous tumours developing. Callum has already had two lumps removed from his arm.
Thankfully Callum is seen at Great Ormond Street every six months and they take care of all his medical needs. Caring Matters Now also provides us with invaluable support as a family. The group activities have enabled Callum to meet other young people with the same type of birthmark as him and allows me to talk to other parents about my own worries.
This walk will raise money to enable this amazing charity to continue with its invaluable work.
So please consider donating and I will start walking.........
