Thanks for visiting our team fundraising page.
We are a team of 24 who have agreed to take on the challenge of summiting 24 peaks in a mere 24 hours all in aid of Caring Matters Now.
Caring Matters Now represents and supports those affected by Congenital Melanocytic Naevi (CMN), a rare disfiguring mole like birthmark, which can cover up to 80% of the body.
CMN syndrome is the association of these moles with brain problems such as brain or spinal tumours, too much fluid around the brain and abnormal brain structure.
One of the most common complications is malignant melanoma of the skin or brain.
Caring Matters Now funds research. Recently we have found the cause of CMN in 80% of cases.
We now want to fund research into treatments and the first priority is to reduce the risk of malignant melanoma, as this is currently untreatable and rapidly fatal.
This research is therefore a race against time.
The money raised through this challenge will not only help us support those affected by CMN through family support days and supplying literature, but it will fund a full time research assistant post for 6 months.
Your donation can really help us smash this goal.
Remember: Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never share them with anyone or send you unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. They'll make sure Gift Aid (an additional 28%) is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer, too. That means more money goes to the charity, faster, with JustGiving.
So please dig deep and donate now.
