Story

ME: Hey One and All, Growing up through a pandemic is tough. I have never been the strongest person emotionally but knew in my mind I wanted to walk the Machu Picchu trail of the Incas. As a reward for achieving my GCSE grade's my parents have funded me to trek. Recently, two families close to us have experienced their sons. This is a devastating and unnecessary loss, as they took their own lives. I have 3 brother's which has also shown me the vulnerability of both male and female mental health. Please help me raise funds to help young people feel supported to voice their worries and know it is normal to worry. These donations will save young peoples' lives.

BOYS IN MIND: We aim to empower boys and young men to talk about their emotions in a safe and healthy manner, to promote positive images of boys and young men, and to embrace and celebrate diversity. Our organisation is unique in that it is youth led, supported by an experienced adult team. Young people are actively involved in all aspects of our work. One of our principles is to have young men leading the strategy as they are hugely underrepresented in the field of mental health and wellbeing. Our film projects explore issues related to boys and young men not opening up, male stereotypes, and the importance of establishing safe and supportive environments where boys and young men feel comfortable about seeking help when they are struggling. See: https://boysinmind.co.uk/film-page/We work with school groups to help them understand the issues around male suicide and mental health and the positive things which can be done to improve mental health and wellbeing.
