Hi, I'm Matt Doughty and will be  running the 2010 London marathon. I was lucky enough to be able to secure a ballot place, and decided that I would like to raise money for a local charity that makes a massive difference to many peoples lives. As part of my preparation I have been running 3-4 times per week and will be running the Bath half marathon on March 7th. Why run for Dorothy House?

Dorothy House Hospice Care helps over 1,500 families affected by cancer, motor neurone disease and other life threatening conditions every year, either in their own homes or at the hospice in Winsley, near Bath. To ensure that patients have the best quality of life possible, Dorothy House provides pain and symptom relief, respite for carers, emotional and spiritual support and day care.

This year, we need £3 million to maintain our services at the current level. Dorothy House Hospice Care receives only about 30 per cent of its funding from the NHS, and the hospice depends on the generosity of local people. By taking part and being sponsored in any (or all!) of these events you can help Dorothy House to continue Caring when it counts.
