Story

Dear Friend

We are set to brave the gruelling Kilworth Challenge for the third time in 2010 to raise money for local charities.  We will be known this year as the “Trinity Flyers” in the arduous two-day endurance test in North Kilworth, Leicestershire, on 29th and 30th May.

The Kilworth Challenge sees 42 teams-of-four completing a 30-mile trek over a 48-hour period.  Participants will have to undertake a series of tough physical or mental trials at one-mile intervals, including assault courses, bog runs, a one-mile up-hill sprint or puzzles.

Heading the Trinity Flyers team is myself Richard Nikolic, Managing Director of Trinity Motors.  Last year our team came an impressive 10th overall and actually won the Veterans Class. Our aim this year is to come in the top 10 and win the veteran class again.  This years team mates are Rick Nikolic, Neil Ridley, Nick Langridge and new for 2010 Steph Pearce. Steph will add a new depth to this years team because A, she’ s a girl, and B she’s fitter, faster and more intelligent.  We know how hard it is but we believe in the fantastic causes and are doing it again anyway!

The aim of the weekend-long event is to raise as much money as possible for good causes. Among the national charities to benefit from sixty per cent of this year’s proceeds are Dukes Barn, an outdoor adventure centre for youngsters, Over The Wall, a residential activity camp for seriously ill youngsters, and Leicestershire Clubs for Young People, which provides young people with opportunities for physical, creative and social activities. Forty per cent of the amount raised will go to local charities.  Since it was established in 1990, the Kilworth Challenge has raised almost £700,000.

So with good humour and a little humility I would ask if you could help by sponsoring the Trinity Flyers,  “I know we are just coming out of a recession but any amount you can spare will really help these well-deserving causes.  Please sponsor us this year – you have no idea how much training and effort it takes a veteran!”
