Story
Please consider sponsoring us as we undertake a charity trek in April 2024, through remote hills and jungle in northern Vietnam, in aid of Dorothy House Hospice Care.
The trek we are doing is over the period of a week. We will be walking from village to village, through one of Vietnam's National Parks, sleeping in rural, communal accommodation en route and trekking through jungle. During our trip we will also be volunteering in hospices in the area, providing support and assistance where it is required.
We both have experience of what a hospice offers; personally, with family and friends having needed their support and care, and professionally, as Sarah currently works for Dorothy House Hospice as a Palliative Care Physiotherapist, and worked as a Bereavement Support worker prior to that.
Dorothy House Hospice Care is an incredible organisation which touches many people's lives. The work it carries out allows individuals to live as well as possible as they approach the end of their lives, as well as offering support for families during this time, and in bereavement.
Serving a population of over 550,000, the Hospice supports approximately 3700 people per year, 90% of the care being provided in people's homes, and is free to access.
Dorothy House employs 442 staff and uses over 1000 volunteers to support its work, relying mainly on donations and fundraising to run its much-needed services.
We are funding the trip ourselves, but would be so grateful if you would consider sponsoring us by donating to the charity.
Many thanks
