One in four children and young people live in poverty in Scotland. For many, the issue is so acute that some families have to make the heartbreaking decision each day as to whether it is more important to heat their house or sit down to eat.
Funds from the STV Childrens Appeal provide practical help like food and clothing, or create opportunities for training and employment, or supply social and emotional support to help affected young people overcome their difficulties
The Rotary Club of Claverhouse will donate all the monies raised from the Dundee Cyclathon Challenge 2020 to the STV Children's Appeal to put a smile on the faces of those Dundee children so desperately in need. Over the past 15 years, Cyclathon participants have raised in excess of £250,000 and we aim to make 2020 a record fundraising year with your help.
o A donation of £5 could provide internet access to a young person feeling cut off from others while self-isolating during the Covid-19 pandemic.
o £10 could provide essential food and household items like nappies to a family who are struggling to makes ends meet.
o A generous gift of £20 could provide a couple of days of gas and electricity to heat a family home.
