There is currently no cure for single ventricle heart conditions and families live daily with the worries that come with that. As Jacobs mum Mel puts it,
Christmas is a time for spending time with families and friends, but when you have a child with half a heart, you have to put on a show for everyone, but just because its Christmas it doesnt mean the feelings go away.
Little Hearts Matter provides a blanket of comfort when they need it most to our members by providing them with access to professional advice and expertise as well as a network of families going through the same experiences. As Mel says,
people dont understand, the only people who understand are Little Hearts Matter and other parents of kids with half a heart. Id be lost without them, especially at Christmas.
