My story

Spring is in the air - well actually it has only just stopped snowing in Saddleworth and as many of us know poor weather (or rather the threat of it) put paid to the Golf Day on March 29th.  We hope to get it rearranged soon and full details will be announced as and when.

This years Dinner Dance did however go ahead as planned (it seems that our black tie revellers are hardier than the golfers!) and it is pleasing to note that we should soon be passing on a cheque to our chosen charity for approximately £2,000.  Well done to everyone who attended the event and of course those who worked hard to make it possible.

STOP PRESS!

Speaking of working hard our supporters will no doubt be interested to know that yet another one of our faithful followers has just volunteered to put body and soul on the line and will be taking part in a charity boxing event on Thursday 13th June in London.  Talk about above and beyond!  Tom Cooling hopes to raise pots of money for the OCA through a share of ticket sales and has also set up his own JustGiving page www.justgiving.com/Tom-Cooling where you will be able to find out all the information you need and of course make donations!  Come on - lets all get stuck in and make it a knock out success.

Finally a reminder that since Spring 2010 we've been supporting Ovarian Cancer Action, a small but incredible charity committed to funding research, raising awareness and giving a voice to women and the families affected by ovarian cancer. Mum was very keen that we help fund cutting edge scientific research in this area, and we hope that our contributions to OCA will make a difference. You can learn more about their great work by visiting http://www.ovarian.org.uk/.

Incidentally although our original page in support of The Christie Hospital is now closed to donations, you can still visit it here http://www.justgiving.com/gmj-1 to see all the donations and lovely messages that were left there.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: OCA get your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Thanks once again for your ongoing support, generosity and good work!

Much love.

Pete, Helen and Steve xxxx
