Well i did it!!! Got through it just fine in 4hrs 43mins and loved every second of it. What an amazing and overwhelming experience! Just to say a MASSIVE thank you to everyone who has made this possible and for achieving and beating my target for Wishes 4 Kids.

Sunday the 26th of April 2009 is going to be a HUGE day for me along with my brother Martin and 30,000 other people. Yes it's The London Marathon and I'll be running it....for the first time and yes i can hear you all laughing!!!! 

Why?

For those of you that know my brother, he was widowed in November 2004 and  decided that something positive should come out of his wife's tragic death.  So, he approached a local Leicester-based charity - Wishes 4 Kids and they agreed to set up a fund in his late wife's name.  Hence the "Laura Hulbert Fund for Wishes 4 Kids" was started.

Over the past 4 years both Martin's and Laura's friends, family and I have completed various fundraising events to help raise money for the fund.   These have ranged from 11 of us completing The Stratford Half Marathon, 9 people completing a sky dive and Rob Mark (Laura's brother) completing a cycle ride from Leicester to Hunstanton and Great Yarmouth.

So this year i've decided to get off my arse again, however brave or stupid this may be, and run the London Marathon for Wishes 4 Kids aswell.  So why not give twice as much on this page, or sponsor him too on www.justgiving.com/martinhulbert

Wishes 4 Kids is a Leicester based charity, run by a handful of amazing people who rely solely on fundraising and donations to grant the wishes of very ill local children, the details to the left of this page describes the valuable work that Wishes 4 Kids does and if you want to know more then please click on the link below for their website.
