We have chosen to support Boys in Mind, as Henry felt unable to share his struggles with family and friends and we want to help other boys and young men feel able to speak about their emotions and mental health. 

Boys in Mind aims to empower boys and young men to talk about their emotions in a safe and healthy manner, to promote positive images of boys and young men, and to embrace and celebrate diversity. Their organisation is unique in that it is youth led, supported by an experienced adult team. Young people are actively involved in all aspects of their work. One of their principles is to have young men leading the strategy as they are hugely underrepresented in the field of mental health and wellbeing. Their film projects explore issues related to boys and young men not opening up, male stereotypes, and the importance of establishing safe and supportive environments where boys and young men feel comfortable about seeking help when they are struggling. They work with school groups to help them understand the issues around male suicide and mental health and the positive things which can be done to improve mental health and wellbeing.
