As a group of Mum's who get together and walk for a number of miles in the evenings, we have set ourselves a challenge for 2010.  SNOWDONIA....

We completed the Moonlit Walk last summer and then asked ourselves "What next" and Snowdon was the answer.

On Saturday 22nd May, myself and 6 of my close friends will be walking Snowdon and hoping to raise money and awareness for some charities that are very close to our hearts.

Whilst my page supports the charity Women for Women, between us we are also raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support (http://www.justgiving.com/ladiesdosnowdon) and BASICs, Doctors who provide immediate medical care at the site of an accident, emergency or in transit (http://www.justgiving.com/ladiesdosnowdon3)

The reason why I have decided to support "Women for Women" is due to my lovely sister and her family.  On 7th August 2008, Bels, my sister gave birth to a beautiful little boy Ryan at 34 weeks of pregnancy - he was born sleeping.  Then on 24th July 2009 she lost a beautiful baby girl, Olivia at 21 weeks due to severe spina bifida, severe hydrocephalus and other serious complications with her brain and organs - she was also born sleeping.  Since these very sad events my sister has been working hard to raise awareness and money for research into miscarriages, stillbirth and infertility.  On the 12th June 2010, she has organised a charity summer ball at the De Vere Grand Harbour Hotel in Southampton (http://www.makeadifference.org/) and in October 2010 she will be cycling 450km around China in aid of the "Women for Women" charity.

 

My decision to support this charity, understandably was not a difficult one.  So please dig deep and donate now knowing that your hard earned money is going to such a fantastic cause.
