Story

This past year -- whether it was the pandemic, far right movements, issues around racial equality or the political chaos in the US -- has illustrated the importance of education, particularly when it comes to reading the news. Amid the growing influence of conspiracy theories and fringe movements, critical understanding of what we see in the media is integral in our collective fight against disinformation.

To do my part, I'm raising money for The Economist's Educational Foundation, which seeks to improve news literacy among the younger generation. I'm aiming to raise at least HKD5,000 (around US$645) by end-February as part of this goal; and to match that, I'm running/cycling/hiking 250km by end-Feb as well. If you have the resources or the capacity--and if re-establishing trust in the news is important to you--please think about donating to this cause.

Thank you for your support!
