Story
Many thanks for visiting our fundraising page.
As you must be aware, Pen passed away on July 17, after a brave and dertermined 7-month struggle with the brain tumour. She was inspirational during these difficult times.
As her family, we have decided to encourage people to make donations in her honour instead of having lots of flowers at the funeral. This page allows you to make donations to Arthur Rank Hospice Charity. Arthur Rank House is the hospice where Pen was transferred to in the run-up to Christmas 2007, when she lost consciousness following her brain biopsy, and the outlook looked very bleak.
Thanks in large part to the care, attention to detail and dedication of the staff at Arthur Rank, Pen subsequently rallied. The care she had at Arthur Rank was phenomenal and as a family, we are eternally grateful. We also now have lots of new friends among the staff at Arthur Rank.
You can find out more about Arthur Rank House by clicking on this link: http://www.arthurrankhouse.nhs.uk/ . The hospice charity needs to raise approximately £1 million annually in order to continue to provide the level of care which Pen received.
Alternatively, you may want to make a donation towards brain tumour research. For this, please click the following link to access Sue's fundraising page: http://www.justgiving.com/sueleeslow . Sue is a close friend of ours, who was in France with Pen. Sue is doing a parachute jump in honour of Penny and raising money towards the leading UK brain tumour organisation.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy, efficient and totally secure: Arthur Rank Hospice Charity gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
On behalf of our beloved Penny, we thank you for your support.
Roger, Diana, Ashley, Miranda, Nathaniel and Ashwin.
