Hello.
Our team consists of crew and friends of the Newhaven Lifeboat.
We are trying to raise much needed funds for Macmillan. To do this a number of us have agreed to participate in 2 events; a bike ride and a walk
The bike ride will be the complete South Downs Way, 105 grueling miles. If that wasn’t tough enough we are aiming to complete it in just 2 days! We will be starting the ride on Friday 13th July.
The walk will commence 1 week later on Saturday 21st July. The route will be along a stretch of the South Downs Way from Ditchling Beacon (3rd highest point along South Downs Way) to Firle Beacon.
Why are we doing this? As some of you may know recently one of our crew members Gavin Butcher was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Macmillan have provided exceptional support for him and his family providing advice and guidance, emotional and practical support and generally making a very difficult situation that little bit easier
