Amelia Saunders, our beautiful daughter, was diagnosed at the beginning of February with an incurable, inoperable brain tumour. Amelia is 4 years old and lives with her mum, dad and sister Charlotte in Reading, Berkshire.
During the time we have had to come to terms with the fact that our time with our little girl is short – we have looked at alternative options to how she might be treated. There is currently no cure for this awful disease and treatment in the UK is short term, always leading to death.
Amelia's story has touched many, many people and she has fought her cancer very bravely, beating many odds and continuing to amaze us all with how strong she is. We found a potential ray of hope for Amelia - the treatment offered by the Burzynski clinic in Houston, Texas. We went there in March and April 2012, and have been continuing the treatment for Amelia back home in Reading ever since. So far, her tumour has remained stable and she has been able to live as much of a normal life as possible, going to school, meeting new friends, and being a happy little 4 year old girl. We continue to live in hope that, one day, the tumour might start shrinking and we can see an end in sight to this part of our lives.
So please dig deep and donate now.
