ARCHIE’S DREAM TEAM is one of the biggest ever groups of charity runners from Scotland to take part in an overseas marathon. The 44 strong team will fly out to New York on 4th November to participate in the ING New York Marathon (6th November 2011).
For 4 years, a group of 6 Aberdeen businessmen have been raising money for local sick children. So far a grand total of £150,000 has been raised and shared respectively between The ARCHIE Foundation and Dreams Come True. Being motivated by a challenge, and by the thought of making an even bigger difference to the lives of terminally and seriously ill children across the North East of Scotland, 2011 saw the creation of ARCHIE’S DREAM TEAM, an amalgamation of fundraisers for both charities . They intend to raise a further £100,000 this year.
The business men enlisted the help of 38 others this year and are continuing their fundraising efforts in 2011, with a target of £100,000, through events such as the ING New York Marathon and their annual Dreams Come True Ball in Aberdeen in October.
The six local businessmen involved are:
