Thanks for visiting Democracy's fund-raising page.
We are a PR, social and digital agency based in Manchester. At the beginning of 2016, we made a commitment to fundraise as a team this year for the first time.
The reason we chose Royal Manchester Children's Hospital is to support a good friend of our agency, whose family is benefiting from the amazing specialist care that the hospital provides. We want to do our little bit to help them continue to provide hope and comfort to many more families, now and in future.
With 371 beds, Royal Manchester Children's Hospital is the largest single-site children's hospital in the UK and as well as the latest medical equipment and IT, it offers a play centre, schooling, family accommodation and adolescent facilities to cater for the needs of the whole family.
We are a team of 14 at Democracy and throughout the year, we will be undertaking various activities to reach - and smash - our fundraising target. These include quiz nights, runs, boat racing, cake baking, babysitting and even an office swear jar!
For our first event, we've decided to throw ourselves in at the deep end (hopefully not literally) and enter the Salford Dragon Boat Festival on May 8th.
The following people are currently on board: Graeme McGilliard, Hannah LeBon, Jennifer O'Grady, Paul Wilcox, Ste Lowry, Abby Rooney, Liz Bleakley, Jonny Kidd, Phoebe Mills, Marky, Gemma Carey and Jo Cross.
We would really appreciate any donations you can give us, and feel free to come down and cheer us on.
We will be at Ontario Basin, Salford; the first race starts at 10.30 and the day finishes at 4pm.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT. IT'S GREATLY APPRECIATED.
