Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

I'm raisng money for 3 Charities  by stupidly agreeing to run this years London Marathon, it seemed like such a good idea 6 years ago... not so much now! (& yes i have been applying to the ballot for 6 years! SIX!!!! Now thats already a marathon!)

You can choose to sponsor one or all of my charities - each has a seperate page (for HMRC reasons re: gift aid). So chose the one that you would like to support or divide any ndonation evenly - its up to you.

The three charities i would like your help raising money for are all ones that are close to my heart. The first, Pilgrims Hospice, rely entirely on donations from the public & did a sterling job looking after my grandfather when he was suffering with terminal cancer a few years ago. They are a local hospice charity & the staff are unbelievably kind, caring & deserve more praise than I can really do justice, a small donation will make the world of difference to those that work there (and anyone who comes experiences the fantastic help & support that that they offer).

Charity # 2 is related (Cancer Research UK) - they need no introduction but do great work, let’s hope we can help to cure & prevent more & more cancers. For everyone that I know personally that has been affected directly or has a loved one who has been affected this one is for you too.

The 3rd charity is to help raise money for Alzheimer’s - again something that has affected my family & is a disease for which (as yet) there is no cure. That said there are some really interesting studies happening to understand the disease & develop cures & treatments. I have chosen the Alzheimer's Research Trust to donate to; They are a great organisation & would benefit greatly from anything we can raise.

Finally I will be eternally grateful of your support - all these charities do great things & I for one wish I did more for others... so whilst I’m cursing my trainers, dodgy knees & all the rubbish I’ve been eating whilst crawling my way around London on the 25th April you can sit comfortable in the knowledge that your donation has kept me going & made a difference.

Enough sales talk - Sponsor me & wish my knees well!
