So I've decided to put all the running I was planning on doing this lockdown to good use and try and raise some money for charity. 

I've wanted to challenge myself with trying to run a half marathon for a while now and I would love to support CRAG's continuing hard work at helping refugees find safe passage. 

Charlbury Refugee action group is a charity me and my mum have worked closely with the past few years. My mum has devoted hours of her time from making recipe book to organising music events and pop up cafe's and I would love to also do something to raise some money.

I will continuing long distance running and training over January and attempt to run half a marathon in one go on the last weekend January and track the run on my running app. 

A bit about Crag: 

CRAG's New Year appeal this year continues to raise funds for Safe Passage, a charity organising and campaigning for safe and legal routes for child refugees to join family members in the UK. The campaign was inspired by our theme for the 2020 Charlbury Christmas Tree Festival. This year our tree was decorated with 39 stars, one for each child who has died trying to cross the Channel since 1999. All of the 39 children named on the stars, along with 257 adults, have died as a result of the closed border policies of the UK. As highlighted in the recent Deadly Crossings report, there is no safe, legal and speedy means by which refugees and displaced people can reach the UK.
