Story
British Red Cross 3 Peaks Challenge - 28/29 July 07
Ben Nevis - Scafell Pike - Snowdon
Fantastic, Fantastic!
The team completed the British Red Cross 3 Peaks challenge in 23 hours and 31 minutes, smashing the 24 hours target.
It was a gruelling challenge that really pushed the team to their physical and mental limits. Not only did the people who were walking have to battle with the physical challenge of continuous walking up ridiculously steep, rugged terrain. They also had the mental challenge of navigating up and down the mountains, sometimes in the dark.
The support crew had an equally challenging task of driving through the night battling with tight, twisty roads and long monotonous motorways. They were also faced with the mental challenge of navigating the correct route and arriving on time at the correct location, which is a much harder task than it sounds. They also had to feed and water the walkers before and after each mountain.
Thank You
The team would like to take this opportunity to thank the very long list of people and companies who have supported us and the British Red Cross. We felt truly special reading some of the messages we received before, during and after the event.
Without your kind words, support and generosity, we would not have been able to achieve this task. For that reason, we are truly grateful.
Some of the text messages received during the event include:
