I running the London Marathon to raise funds for Jersey Hospice Care because I think the range of services and the caring support they offer to patients and their loved ones is incredible and crucial.

I spent quite a considerable amount of time at Jersey Hospice Care visiting a very special friend who received end of life care there and was both amazed and comforted to witness the degree of care, both physical and emotional, tirelessly delivered by the Jersey Hospice Care team.

It costs over £4.5 million each year for Jersey Hospice Care to maintain their services and 91% of this is self funded, yet all the services offered to patients and their families remain free of charge.

It is a sad fact that more and more of us are being touched, either directly or indirectly, by Jersey Hospice Care's services every day and therefore I think it is fundamental to support this work.
